JUDAH, USA

"I am really enjoying my studies so far. Each of my teachers have a really good knowledge of the subject they teach, and many of them have brought in guest speakers who have an extended or unique perspective. I was worried about being a bachelor's student in master's classes, but the professors all do a great job of explaining their topics, especially considering they aren't teaching in their native language. I am gaining a completely different perspective on forests and forest management. Coming from the US, I don't often learn much about how other countries are tackling the problems that face the worlds forests and natural resources (aside from maybe Canada), so learning new ways to think, measure, manage forest ecosystems will certainly give me an advantage in my studies back in America, and more importantly, in the job search when I finish my studies. Life in Brno is wonderful. I couldn't imagine a more perfect location in Europe for someone who likes to travel, like myself. I am within a few hours, or at most, half a day's train or bus ride to almost all of Europe. Here in Brno it is also great. The International Student Club at Brno does a fantastic job of setting up
events, getting all of the ERASMUS students connected to one another, and is usually very quick to answer all of our questions about Mendel University, Brno and life in the Czech Republic. The cost of living here is incredibly reasonable, which leaves lots of extra money for travelling and drinking some of the world's best beer. (Which is also another big plus about living in Brno!)"
